The members of JWSevereWeather are both professional and highly trained in their fields of expertise. Our goal is to help communities deal with the unpredictable nature of severe weather incidents. We are fortunate to have a myriad of talents within our ranks, ranging from teams of meteorologists, technological research, and even search and rescue operations. Each member within the aforementioned team not only volunteers his/her time, many of us also invest a portion of our own personal finances to sustain operations and meet our goals. For example: twice a year members of the Immediate Response Team meet to conduct search and rescue operations training at a designated training site. Many of these members drive for several hours to attend this training, and they do so proudly. Our research department will drive several hours to deploy research instrumentation into the path of a tornado.
